May is Living Streets’ National Walking Month and this year the campaign is highlighting the benefits of walking for women’s health and wellbeing.
The campaign encourages women to #WalkOut this May – getting outside to walk or wheel each day for their own physical health, mental wellbeing and enjoyment.
Living Streets recognises that women are more likely to make multi‑purpose journeys, often combining school drop‑offs, caring responsibilities and errands into a single trip. National Walking Month aims to encourage women to take time to walk for themselves, purely for enjoyment and wellbeing.
To mark National Walking Month, a national ‘Walk Out’ day will take place on Friday 29 May, inviting people across the UK to take part.
Anyone who signs up to the #WalkOut campaign will also be entered into a prize draw to win £250 in shopping vouchers.
Walking is a simple and accessible way to support overall health, and patients are encouraged to take part at a pace and distance that suits them.
